My name is Princess Gilese Oxcino, 33 year old from Rizal, Philippines. I studied Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree in the Philippines year 2008, then a National Vocational Qualification of Health & Social care Level 3 passed 2011. And, also finished a Bachelors of Science Honors Degree in Health and Social care studied in UK year 2014.

My family history: I have a very simple family. My mother is a plain housewife(ex fish vendor), my father was a driver and he passed away last 2015. I have one eldest brother who works as an auto mechanic and my youngest sister is a licensed nurse working in the hospital. I was married in 2014 my husband is currently working as a chef in Grand Hyatt Hotel in Qatar. I have only one daughter who is now 6 years old living in the Philippines together with my mother. We were raised to be respectful and with God peering at all times.

My work experience was my first job after my degree. I worked as a Caregiver in Sisters of St. Paul of the Chartres in Philippines for elderly Nuns and priests who are retired from their service. I had a chance to work for 6 months. We handled different patients with different needs of care and gained some experience and training from the job. Then, in 2009 I moved to the UK and studied the National Vocational Qualification level 3 related to care management and cultural adaptation. While studying I worked as Healthcare Assistant in a Nursing home where we take care of residents with challenging behavior with chronic and terminally ill both mobile and bed bound residents. Giving them full care daily from medicine, feeding and grooming. I stayed with them on a regular basis and they sent me for training to be more competent and familiar with the work environment in the UK. Like moving and handling, selfcare, feeding, safety and security and first aid management. Most of the time we are always renewing our certificates of training every 6 months. I stayed with them almost 4years from regular staff to bank staff. Then, after 2years, I move into a bigger responsibility to work in an NHS or hospital in the UK as Healthcare Assistant/ Phlebotomy. I used to work in Out patient department doing an assessment taking bloods and routine check ups, mostly for diabetic and with heart disease patients before referring them to our Doctors and nurses. I record and report every issue or changes to the patient’s condition and give them medical intervention if it’s needed too. We used to visit patients also in the house who are not able to come to the Hospital for check ups. I had a chance to be trained also in different courses to be more confident in facing the patients needs especially in emergency situations.

February 2016, I was qualified to get a job offer here in Oman as a Private Duty Nurse to a VIP/ Royal Family patient. My patient has a complicated condition where she has to have a Nurse for 24hours beside her. She is immobile and has poor mobility, I always represent myself as an advocate and educator for her. She is having medical treatment abroad and I’m always with her.Until now I’m currently working here in Oman turning 4years and 5months in service.

I love taking care of Elderly patients and supporting them for their needs and wants. It makes me feel well appreciated the way they smile at me everytime I help them with the service I did for them. I can get along easily with people’s interests and hobbies especially sports entertainment but working professionally to my patients. Their emotion, physical and mental state is important to be able to understand their condition to give them affection and appreciation too. My desire is to give all the best care I can provide for my patients and to be able to always help them. To support and guide them in proper intervention and management, to love and treat them as my family.

I believe that I’m fully equipped for the position you are looking for because of my knowledge and experience. And, I wanted to come to Canada for my family to be reunited and to build a good foundation for my daughters future. I believe Canada has a lot of things to promise and offer for my family’s brighter future. This is my dream since childhood, I hope you can help me too. I can promise to do my best and to provide my patients needs in medical related management. Hoping and praying for your answer.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
